An expressive nose of bright red pinot fruit aromas that includes nuances of earth and underbrush lead to relatively elegant middle weight flavors supported by ripe tannins and really lovely balance and length. This is definitely worth a look for its level as the refinement is unusual.
BURGHOUND

As I have observed here before, Burguet has radically modified his style from the old school burgundies that he was producing in the mid '90s, indeed to the point that they are almost unrecognizable as coming from the same domaine today. What I find intriguing about the change though is that while I personally prefer the present day style because the tannins are so much more refined, it's rare that someone can make equally interesting wines in two radically different styles.
