The White Label Alvarinho is Carlos Codesso’s signature wine and the 2009 has been given one of the top Alvarinho ratings in Portugal’s premier annual review, Vinhos de Portugal. The fruit comes from Melgaco, the premium part of the Minho region. The nose is extremely fine and delicate. This elegance flows through to the palate and the time on skins adds a lovely phenolic touch. The wine continues to evolve with time in glass and becomes more opulent as the minutes pass. The acidity of this wine is spot on, providing excellent structure. This is one of a handful of Alvarinho’s that has the capacity to be cellared and drunk with some years on it. A stunning wine.
