Alex really nailed this one. Head Red is made from a blend of
de-classified fruit from both the Moppa and Stonewell vineyards which he
produces the Blond and Brunette. It contains a small amount of co-fermented
Viognier. Deep and bright colour with a lifted, almost perfumed nose of black
fruits and hints of liquorice and spices. The palate is rich and fleshy, the
liquorice and black fruits are consistent, black cherry and blackberry fruit
without a hint of jaminess or raisin, medium length but persistent with fine and
sophisticated tannins for a wine of this price.
