Bodegas Monteabellón is located in the heart of Ribera del Duero and is made up 52 hectares of vineyards (mainly Tempranillo) around the township of Nava de Roa. The inspiration behind this relatively new venture is Isaac Fernandez, nephew of the legendary Vega Sicilia ex- winemaker, Marino Garcia, with whom he has worked for several vintages. This 100% unwooded Ribera del Duero Tempranillo is simply delicious and at $15 in straight dozens would have to be one of the wine bargains of 2011!  PWS
