In many ways, Jacquesson follows neatly on from my last sparkling article on Salon, because it is one of those champagne-lovers' champagnes. Unlike Cristal or Dom Pérignon, it has a bling-factor of a green plastic ring from a Xmas cracker, but to those that appreciate complex, reserved champagnes with razor-sharp poise; bereft of pretension but surfeit with character; Jacquesson delivers.

Recently Champagne Jacquesson was awarded three stars in Le Classement de La Revue du Vin de France.  This is a fantastic achievement given Le Classement is a ranking of the 1,300 best domaines in France divided by regions with three starts being the maximum you can receive.  In Champagne, only Bollinger, Egly-Ouriet, Jacquesson, Krug, Salon and Selosse have Three Stars status.
