Our annual VIP Champagne dinner is nearly upon us and this year we have taken a slightly different tack. Traditionally this event has focused on the Grande Marques of the region but we, and many of your customers, understand that today the face of Champagne is changing and many of the small Growers are producing some of the greatest examples and most thrilling wines in the area. With that in mind we have opted to drop the name we have been using for all these years to show the focus is now spread amongst the Growers as well as the more traditional mainstay houses.

At the end of the day we don’t think the name is as important as the wines that are on show and this years line up is very exciting. There are the usual suspects from the big houses like, Krug Vintage, Dom Perignon, Taitinger Comtes de Champagne, Dom Ruinart, Pol Sir Winston Churchill and others. There is also a number of smaller producers and Grower Champagne houses with the likes of Egly Ouriet, Vilmart, Agrapart  and Pierre Peters on show to highlight the great energy of the region, the diverse styles and winemaking that all contributes to making Champagne such a unique and special prospect in the vinous world.

This year the dinner has grown from 10 wines to 14 commencing with a bracket of Blanc de Blancs where the traditional big guns will go toe to toe with some of the modern leading lights of the style. The second bracket will showcase the regions classic blends with six vintage wines on that reads like a who’s who of Champagne.

Lastly an interesting pair to match with dessert, Krug Rose and Andre Clouet 1911, what a way to finish off an incredible evening celebrating one of the worlds greatest wine styles. This promises to be one of the best VIP Champagne dinners to date and we hope to see you there.
