SESSION 2 – 2pm

Marco de Jerez is a gorgeous region of rolling hills inland from the Atlantic coast and north from the bay of Cádiz, in the south of Spain. This is the land of sherry. Jerez being the most famous town.

Recently though. Jerez has taken on a  new direction – the Palominos – Finos continuum.
No longer just fortified sherry styles are being made, there is an emphasis by cutting edge growers and winemakers who see the real potential of the region, the palominio grape and the incredible diversity of styles possible. Think minerally Chablis like acidity – Semillon type texture – Chardonnay Complexity – on tasting is a diverse range of styles.

Scott Wasley of The Spanish Acquisition will take us through the finer points in a 1 hours masterclass. This will be a fascinating exploration of the new direction that not just Sherry but Spain itself.
