July Mixed Dozen 2020 - The Pinot Party!
Selected by Myles Thomson

Its another Pinot Party! We think you are going to love this one and who wouldn't when its packed full of 12 delicious Pinot's. While it's not always the easiest pack to put together it's certainly one of the more fun. Pinot's finicky nature and sensitive demeanour means its pretty picky about which sites it grows.
Once in the winery its more of the same story requiring gentle handling and soft touch not to destroy all that charm you've spent so long trying to coax out.Given those factors finding great value Pinot that is top-quality, that has varietal character as well showing off a sense of place - something Pinot does so well - along with that little x-factor is the real trick.
From Burgundy, because you just have to have Burgundy, we have the ever reliable and excellent Bourgogne Rouge form Domaine de Bellene. That quality and consistency of this wine proves to be unmatched in our eyes. If you find better, you let us know!
From local shores we have some new ventures and collaborations from the likes of First Foot Forward 2018 and Le Bon 2018 in the Yarra Valley as well some established legends of the game with the De Bortoli Villages Pinot Noir 2018.
Scorpo is relatively knew to the scene but causing waves with its crunchy and delicious Noiren Pinot while Tim Shand at Punt Road who seems to not put a foot wrong and his Estate Pinot.
Maverick Matt Harrop has released another ripper with his 2018, not-quite Macedon Ranges Silent Way Pinot. Also from Macedon way we have a brand new release from Hesket Estate with their Jingella Pinot. Recent re-vamps at the winery and the addition of Doug Neal (Paradise IV) as winemaker has proven to be a winning combo.
From across the pond we can't say enough good thing about the Palliser Pencarrow - we challenge you to find a Pinot at this level that is complex and as easily drinkable. Delta proves to be ever reliable and cracking good value while the Harrop boys are at it again and have pulled out a stunner with the Amen Break 2019.
There is a heap more in there too and we think this is a bit of a show stopper of top-notch, great value Pinot for you to enjoy.
