Hand-picked. wild yeast-fermented, 10% whole bunches, 4 weeks maceration, matured in French barriques (25% new) for 14 months. Very light colour despite the maceration, and there is a stalky/herbal make-up at odds with the alcohol. A conundrum - are there problems in the vineyard?JAMES HALLIDAY
