This month's premium pack is actually one of two: French and Italian and we are pretty excited about it! These represent the most famous wine growing regions of their respective countries as well as some of the most esteemed producers and winemakers.
We have scoured through the warehouse, trolled through lengthy stock reports and bugged the Sydney store looking for the tastiest morsels and what we have come up with is a selection of brilliant wines and bundled them up into a stellar value pack.
Check out whats in the pack below…
To start the spicy and racy Zind Humbrecht Rotenberg Gris of from a single vineyard at the summit of the hill who's south facing slopes make up the Grand Cru Hengst and rich, red iron soils give this wine an extra richness and depth. The Buisson Battault Meursault Vielle Vignes is always sourced from two single lieu-dits from 60+ year old vines.
The L'Olivaie comes from best selections and see's a little more oak then its baby brother, the Silice. The result a more concentrated and rich style St Joseph that absolutely sings! Also, from the Rhone is Font de Courtedune Chateuneuf du Pape who's vineyards are located next door to the famous Rayas property. This is about 99% Grenache with a blend of 1% other varieties and is a silky and seductive Chateauneuf from a very special vintage.
To finish we have Hospices de Beaune Beaune 1er Cru Cuvee Guigone de Salins 2015. (The Hospice) charity has been running annually since 1859 with the 2015 barrel bought by Prince and elevage by Jane Eyre. This is ripe and complex and just hitting its stride. Finally we have the Chateau Moulandrie from the stellar 2015 vintage. A merlot dominant blend that is sensual and harmonious with plenty of character and like its Burgundian counterpart above is just hitting its sweet spot.
