This month the premium pack takes us a little off the beaten track, well sort of. It's not like we won't take you to some familiar regions. We will. But what we've decided to do is put together a pack where some wines are what one would expect, and some have made their reputation for being a little different. All of the latter category are now benchmark and have achieved cult status for what they did to shift the paradigm and of course, for the sheer quality of what's in the bottle.

To start there's a ground-breaking Prosecco from Bellenda. This outfit of three brothers has led the drive to quality and championed the inclusion method traditional to be part of the rules to make Prosecco. Theirs was the only Prosecco included in the prestigious Opera Wine 2017.  Down the road to one of Italy's greatest producers in Quintarelli. Making incredible Amarone but their less-well-known white is simply outrageously good. Down the road in Tuscany and the ground-breaking white from Querciabella made no sense at the time but it's unique blend of Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay has become a cult wine the world over.

With the reds we have four wines from off the beaten path. Correggia Barbera Bricco Marun - Barbera treated like the prize wine it can be. An aged bottle of this wine remains one of the greatest wines we have ever tasted. Yes, Barbera! We also have the Gianfranco Alessandria L'Insieme Langhe Rosso 2016: a wine made for charity by a group of Barolo's greatest producers and a blend of Nebbiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Barbera. Finally, we round out the six pack with Duemani Altrovino, a blend of biodynamically grown Merlot and Cabernet Franc to show the Bordealise the Italians can make great right bank wines as well.
