Here is a robust and rich expression from this cooler vintage. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino p. 56 is named after the vineyard parcel where the fruit is sourced. Vines are 25 years old and planted 350 meters above sea level. The bouquet is fragrant and powerful with dried cherry aromas followed by spice, balsam herb and moist chewing tobacco. The wine is smooth and dense in terms of mouthfeel, with a bright splash of acidity to keep the palate refreshed. MONICA LARNER, robertparker.com

Interesting tobacco, fresh-herb and dark-fruit character. Full body, layered and very pretty. Juicy fruit. Chocolate and cherry flavors. Some smoke, too. Fascinating. Drink now. (94) JAMES SUCKLING, www.jamessuckling.com
