Wickhams Road Gippsland Pinot Noir 2019
Gippsland is a very big place, not that I’ve ever been there, though in terms of a GI, I understand it’s pretty diverse. Anyway, Franco D’Anna notes that is from ‘our own vineyard in Gippsland’.
Cherry, spiced biscuits, floral perfume allied with cranberry freshness, fine grained powdery tannin, a bit of sap and dried herb, a succulence and smoothness, but very fine and full of Pinot charm, not least for a wine at this price point. So lovely. Gippsland is a knock out in 2019. GARY WALSH, The Wine Front.

From the same vineyard as the Gippsland Chardonnay; guided through the winery to show maximum regional expression, has dark fruits and savoury finish. The fruit is sourced from our own vineyard in Gippsland. We travel down to Gippsland once a week to tend the vines. The wine is destemmed without crushing and left on skins for 25 days. We use a mixture of natural and cultured yeast to achieve a balance between fruit and complexity. The wine is bottled without filtration or fining. HODDLES CREEK ESTATE
