Gleaming, almost iridescent, straw-green; the wine's trophy and eight gold medal show record (culminating in Sydney in 2016) covers every relevant show. Moreover, it still has room to develop even greater richness, a faint touch of CO2 spritz intensifying the lemon/lemongrass fruit flavours, the acidity spot on. JAMES HALLIDAY, The Australian Wine Companion 2017

Not sure when it will be released, but joy and trumpets, here’s an absolute pearler of a wine for my little boy Eddie. The evolution and commitment to putting Lovedale back at the top of the Hunter Semillon tree continues apace. In terms of production levels, the 2007 was a make of around 3000 dozen, this 2011 is around 500 dozen – or so I’m told.

Lemon, lime and a subtle, pretty vanilla perfume – almost Splice-like, for the iced treat fanciers amongst us. It’s a wine marked out by its purity and finesse, yet there’s plenty of flavour -so much so that it feels round and full in the mouth, yet so fine. Line and length second to none. Not really ready as yet, but what a great wine it will be. GARY WALSH, The Wine Front 2012
