Every year we celebrate the crème de la crème of the Prince Wine Store portfolio with our Family Jewels Mixed Dozen. To those unfamiliar with the concept, at the Prince Wine Store we have a number of our own products that we import directly. Relationships with these small producers are forged during buying trips made throughout the year by Michael and Alex, and they are always memorable wines offering spectacular value. This year's January Mixed dozen offers a great selection of our most loved and best performing wines with something for every change in weather that the Melbourne Summer can produce. Our portfolio leans heavily on France and Italy - which makes it even better!

La Cheteau Cremant de Loire NV is an essential piece of kit from the Loire Valley made predominantly from Chenin Blanc, it is bright and zesty and is nearly more universal than Champagne - a serious crowd pleaser. From Provence, some premium Rose in the form of Chateau du Rouet 1840 Cotes de Provence Rosé 2014. Domaine de la Poultiere Tuffo Vouvray Sec 2014 and Jean Reverdy La Reine Blanche Sancerre 2015 are the Loire Valleys two defining wine styles. The Vouvray is a beautiful and textural Chenin Blanc whilst Sancerre is the highest expression of Sauvignon Blanc. Staying in France and moving South to Bordeaux, Ronan by Clinet Bordeaux Blanc 2015 is a blend by the immanent Bordeaux producer: Clinet. We finish the whites with Verdejo Flor de Vetus 2013. This is the taste of Summer, salty and delicious.

We start the reds with cheerful Languedoc offering, Les Vignerons Carignan Syrah 2014. From the Left Bank, Poitevin 2012 is a Cru Bourgeois that springs from a Cabernet led blend - ultimate BBQ wine! From the North of Italy, Correggia Roero Nebbiolo 2013. This a hugely drinkable Nebbiolo from the Roero: The Wild West of Piedmonte. Staying in Northern Italy but looking East, Castello di Buttrio Mon Rouge 2013 is a blend based on the native variety of Refosco. From Sicily, Tenuta Aglaea Etna Rosso Thalia 2014. Often referred to as the Barolo of the South, this wine is made from the ancient varietal Nerello Mascalese. From the crazy Frenchman Nichols Potel, Domaine de Bellene Cote de Nuits Village 2014 is one of the best wines he has ever made, and certainly one of the best we have ever imported.

Cheers,
The Team at Prince Wine Store
