Domaine Font de Courtedune Cotes du Rhone Village 2017
Well the whole “stay-at-home” novelty is wearing off a bit now and we know everyone is getting antsy to get off the couch and be with friends and family again. We’ve been bringing you extra deals all April long and it doesn’t stop here. We’ve wiggled the pricing a bit on one of our absolute favourite Rhone reds. This excellent value wine has been on our list for a while now and we’ve noticed that the critics are starting to speak up about the Producer too.
The family owns some of the best vineyard plots in the Southern Rhone with a majority of the vines being between 40-90 years of age. Originally all the fruit was sold to other producers in the area, but brother and sister duo: Caroline and Frédéric Charrier have, in a very short time, created a domaine to be reckoned with in the Southern Rhone.
If this producer has managed to sneak by you then take advantage of this price (over 30% savings) and get on board. You’ll still be ahead of the curve as we are sure these stars will continue to hone their skills with every vintage and will be oh-so-better with age (so to speak).
I opened one of these the other night and couldn’t believe the lifted aromatics I was getting on the nose. Couple that with a lovely green peppercorn spice on the palate + some silky dark fruits and BAM – that’s an “any night of the week wine” sorted – especially with this chilly weather!
