Luke Lambert 2017 Release
Luke Lambert is a genius. One of the most gifted winemakers in the country. GARY WALSH, THE WINE FRONT
In my view 2017 was the perfect harvest, a 10 out of 10. I wonder how many more like that I’ll get in the rest of my career making wine. LUKE LAMBERT
Luke Lambert described the 2017 vintage as “the best harvest I’ve seen in the valley.” Having spent 20 years making wines in Yarra Valley, this statement says a lot about how good a vintage 2017 was. It was a mild, slow and long harvest which has created beautifully perfumed wines with great balance and acidity.
After being bitten by the wine bug in his teens, Luke travelled to Europe to immerse himself in wine. After moving back to Australia and completing a wine making degree, Luke got himself a job at Coldstream Hills and at the same time set up his own label. Luke’s hard work and dedication has elevated him to the top of the new breed of Australian wine makers. His wonderfully, rich and complex Chardonnay has rightfully found its faithful followers and it’s fair to say that he makes one of the purest and vibrant Syrah’s in the Valley.
If you are a fan of Yarra Valley Chardonnay and Syrah, these wines are a no-brainer and if you have never had Luke’s wines, 2017 is the perfect vintage to start!
