New Gippsland

The landscape of Gippsland is changing – and we aren’t just talking about wind turbines replacing coal power stations. For a long time there was only one producer in Gippsland and we all know their name. Over the past five years a number of new lables have sprung up in the region producing excellent wines from small vineyards. Many of the plantings don’t follow along the Pinot and Chardonnay lines that the region has become famous for: Pinot Gris, Riesling, Cabernet and the aromatic varieties are being experimented with around Leongatha by Fleet and the Wine Farm while the Boys from Onannon and Dirty Three are producing outstanding pinot and chardonnay.

This tasting brings together a collection of small producers forging a new reputation for Gippsland.
