Off Piste: Jura and French Natural Wine
A Le Tour de France inspired tasting where we look at three small and unconventional French wineries.
1. Delphine & Sebastien Boisseau who farm 7.5 hectares of Macon-Bray vineyards with strong bio-dymanic (certified organic). Winemaking is decidedly hands off, utilising wild yeasts and no adjustments bar tiny amounts of sulphur at bottling.
#2 Fabien Jouves continues to blaze a trail in the historic region of Cahors. His 25 hectares are certified biodynamic and his winemaking ticking all the hardcore ‘natural’ boxes, wild ferment, zero sulphur additions etc.
#3 Lucien Aviet are one of the old guard Arbios producers regarded by many to be a benchmark for the Jura. They farm 6 hectares of vines, which included Trousseau & Savagnin and sell almost all of their production locally.
With very few export markets, we are lucky to have some for you to taste!
