Ogier La Rosine 2015 Wine of the Week
Over the last decade or so, Stephane Ogier has raised the bar in just about every way possible for his estate in Côte Rôtie. Today, the estate is unquestionably in the top handful of domaines in the Rhône Valley. JEB DUNNUCK, The Wine Advocate
A visit to the cellars of Stephane Ogier is all it takes to convince you, if you are not already converted, that this is indeed one of the top small handful of estates in the Northern Rhone. Nothing here is out of place, everything is kept immaculately pristine both in the winery and the vineyards (where Stephane is adamant he does most of his work). For those of you who have not tried the wines from this modern era cult producer 2015 is the time to get on board.
La Rosine is made from 100% Syrah and sourced from vineyards located between Cote Rotie and Condrieu. In 2015 the wine really shines, it drinks like a baby Cote Rotie but doesn’t attract the same price tag. It delivers loads of pleasure now but also will amply reward a little patience. My advice is to go hard on this little wine, it will be at least a couple of years before we see another vintage of this quality in the Northern Rhone.
This is always one of the more serious wines in this price point and we are very happy to be able to offer it for 20% off in six packs. Don’t miss out!
