Paul Durdilly 2017 Beaujolais
Beaujolais… quality in 2017 looks exceptionally good. ANDREW JEFFORD, Decanter Magazine
We have been importing this little ripper since the 2008 vintage and it has become a firm favourite with PWS regulars over the years. Great, every day drinking Beaujolais has few rivals in the “what should I drink on a Tuesday night” category and Durdilly consistently hits that magic mark where it sells for a very sharp price and always punches well above its weight.
There is perhaps a little cloud over this years harvest as the region was, for the second year in a row, utterly decimated by hail and so yields were drastically down on what is regarded as normal there. The upshot is the rest of the season was super and already people are talking it up as a brilliant vintage for quality if not quantity. The quote at the start of this email is from perhaps the most highly regarded critic of modern Beaujolais and I think he sums it up pretty well.
We are offering it out at a super price as we genuinely love to spread the love when it comes to Durdilly. For $250 a dozen its unbeatable value, the kind of thing you stock up on and drink over the next twelve or so months whenever the mood for delicious Beauj takes your fancy
