Querciabella 2015 Chianti The Return of the King
The 2015 vintage presents consumers with a tremendous opportunity to acquire fine, cellar worthy wines without spending a fortune. In 2015, the warm growing season yielded rich, sumptuous Chianti Classicos with great depth and intensity…readers won’t want to miss the top 2015s. ANTONIO GALLONI
This is a terrific set of wines from Querciabella and winemaker Manfred Ing. These days, I find almost as much pleasure in the Chianti Classico, a wine that delivers serious quality and pedigree for the money. The 2015s exude density while also remaining faithful to their origins. Proprietor Sebastiano Cossia Castiglioni deserves all the credit in the world for putting together the team to execute on his vision for making world-class wines that are aligned with his broader philosophical goals of sustainability. These wines are simply gorgeous. That’s all there is to it. ANTONIO GALLONI
The Return of the King. Some of you may have already grabbed a little of this from the first round offer that was sent earlier but we are just about to receive our second shipment of the absolutely captivating 2015 Querciabella 2015 Chianti Classico. The first allotment in to Australia sold out in mere moments and I think with all the well deserved hype around the 2015 vintage this lot will walk out the door as well.
To be blunt, this is one of the top few Chianti I have tasted from 2015 which is a huge call considering the terrific quality we are seeing. What takes it up to the top echelon for me is the brightness and cool tones to the fruit. There is all the richness and texture of the year but a bit more liveliness to the sleek frame than some other wines this year. All in all this is about as good as Chianti Classico gets.
The shipment is due to arrive in the next couple of weeks and we are offering the wine out to our Italian wine fans at a special 20% discount in straight six packs and a very special dozen price.
