Ravensworth New Releases 2020

The good and much more tangible news is that this years Ravensworth Estate wines have just been released.  We’ve picked three wines that we feel are benchmarks for this fine New South Wales wine producer.

The first cab off the rank is their 2018 Estate Riesling which really does contribute to the idea that Murrumbateman is home to some of Australia’s finest Rieslings, full stop. These should be drunk and collected more.

A personal favourite of mine is their Estate Sangiovese which has evolved over the years, layering in spice and nuance over the medium bodied and supple fruit. Bryan seems to have always been a dab hand with this grape variety.  His earliest renditions from purchased fruit were delicious and were what convinced me to keep an eye on this label.

Last but not least is the 2018 Shiraz Viognier, always good and always highly sought after.  No doubt in part due to Brians history with the iconic Clonakilla winery.  Where as Clonakilla’s flagship wine demands a decade in bottle, Ravensworth is always a pleasure to drink right out of the gate. PWS
