Rizzi Barbera 2015
Rizzi Barbera d’Alba 2015 – irresistibly delicious wine. KERIN O’KEEFE, The Wine Enthusiast
Winemaker Enrico Dellapiana is making focused, terroir-driven Barbaresco loaded with finesse. Bravo! KERIN O’KEEFE, The Wine Enthusiast
I think most of you would have encountered some kind of passionate rant from one of us about the wines being made by Enrico at Cantine Rizzi in Barbaresco. Just in case you haven’t Enrico is responsible for making some of the most beautiful and classically made wines from his perch sitting high above Treiso where he has some of the best views of any winery I have ever visited, maybe it’s the view that inspires him to make such captivating and pure expressions, or perhaps he is just that naturally talented and would make wines like this wherever he was. Whatever the answer we love the juice from Rizzi and while he is, justifiably, well known for his Cru Barbaresco wines we think he makes a banging Babera as well.
We recently landed Enrico’s 2015s and would like to bring your attention to his Barbera which comes from one of the better years for this variety in some time. I could tell you just how delicious it is or how it is crazy value but I think Kerin O’Keefe sums it up just nicely in the review below. I will ad this though, while right now this wine is a deadest winner and perfect to splash around the table with some food it will also surprise you in a few years if you put it down to sleep. I know, who cellars Barbera? Well you should if you don’t they can make really remarkable wines with just a little more age.
We really do think this is a ripping example and to get the wine out there we are offering it at a nearly 25% discount in straight dozens for the next week. Trust us, you will love this wine, it is impossible not to and I challenge anyone to not finish a bottle once you pull the cork.
