Sir Winston Churchill 2006
A highlight of the season. (97) TYSON STELZER, Champagne Guide
I’d be jumping on as many 2006s as I could afford right now, especially if I were the type of Champagne lover who likes these wines fresh and invigorating. This was an abundant vintage so there’s plenty of wine to go around. Generally speaking, the wines combine suppleness and energy, so they are accessible now but also possess the vivacity for at least mid-term aging. ANTONIO GALLONI
If you like finesse and poise in your Champagne, then it’s difficult to go past Pol Roger. The epitome of this style is their flagship Winston Churchill whose iconic reputation is built around ageability, core of minerality, bright zesty freshness, and a gracefulness that few can rival. There is no doubt in my mind that the 2006 will be another ripping Prestige Cuvee from Pol as their regular releases from the same vintage where superb.
These wines have literally just landed, and we are very excited as Winston is a house favourite here at PWS HQ. If you would like to order, please feel free to contact me personally by either responding to this email or you can call your local store.
