Stop The Press 2016 La Rosine Offer
Over the last decade or so, Stephane Ogier has raised the bar in just about every way possible for his estate in Côte Rôtie. Today, the estate is unquestionably in the top handful of domaines in the Rhône Valley. JEB DUNNUCK, The Wine Advocate
Two thousand sixteen delivered what must be the most graceful and aromatically expressive set of wines that I have yet tasted from this important domaine. In Ogier’s view, 2016 “is a vintage that should be enjoyable at every stage of its life and that life should be quite long, longer than many people think.” JOSH RAYNOLDS
Northern Rhône wine lovers with purist leanings will be head over heels with the soon-to-be-released 2016 vintage, which offers an abundance of energetic, well-balanced and generally graceful wines. A number of producers call it a “dream vintage” for the wines’ collective balance, freshness and expression of terroir…. 2016 is a vintage that’s a must-buy for readers who prize Syrah built along pure, graceful, dare I say feminine, lines. Even so, the wines are in no way lacking depth of flavor or structure. VINOUS MEDIA
As is often the case with certain imports the wines will arrive here before the associated press does. Some of you may remember that we offered this wine out some months ago with a bit of a rant from us about just how good it was? Well now the press is in from John Raynolds, the most important critic for the Rhone Valley, and it is glowing. While Stephane continuously makes some of the greatest examples in the Northern Rhone his 2016s are, across the board, all together something else. A truly great vintage from the great man.
If you are not familiar with the wine, the fruit comes from a plot just outside of the southern limit of Cote Rotie and just before Condrieu. It is prime territory and we often refer to La Rosine as being Cote Rotie in all but name, that certainly holds true for the 2016 which is an absolute belter and offers, we think, some of the best value drinking you could hope to find anywhere.
We still have a little of the wine available and are offering it at the same discount as we did before it arrived, 20% off in six packs. You really can’t go past this for quality and value.
