Vajra Langhe Nebbiolo 2018 Offer

By now I have run out of superlatives for Vajra. Suffice it to say these are some of the finest, artisan wines being made in Piedmont today. At a time when prices for so many wines are skyrocketing out of control, Vajra’s prices are a breath of fresh air. My only regret is not having bought these wines more heavily in the past. ANTONIO GALLONI

A few weeks ago I was having dinner at, what I regard as Melbourne’s best pasta place by some distance, Tipo 00 with some friends. Food was amazing as was the service but that is not the point of this email as I am not a restaurant critic (though if I was they would get 7 gold plated penne out of a possible 8). What I ordered to drink, among other things, was a bottle of Vajra’s 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo.

It shouldn’t have come as such a surprise to me, considering that this is an estate in Barolo that sits up near the top of the tree for me and considering the overall quality of the 2018 vintage in the area, but this was sensationally good and brilliantly priced. That is the sweet spot for me, a wine of this calibre at this price is a real find and something to celebrate.

I don’t think I would be able to sum up how good it is as well as Antonio Galloni so I will leave it there and you can decide if it sounds tempting. I will say this though, one of the more impressive wines in this section of the market I have tasted recently.
