Yeringberg Majestic 2015s
Yeringberg is steeped in history. The small property has the oldest vines in the Yarra Valley: renowned for their wines before the Great War, Guille de Pury and his wife Katherine managed to rejuvenate vineyards in 1969, spearheading the regions return to glory. As always it is all estate grown fruit, entirely tended to and harvested by hand, with minimal intervention and now all bottled under screwcap. We are delighted to be able to offer the latest release from this totem of our industry here in Victoria. These wines carry the further pedigree of the 2015 vintage in the Yarra Valley: the Yarra produced superb wines in 2015, whites and reds and in particular for the Pury’s, Cabernet and Pinot Noir. The Yeringberg Cabernet Blend, in my mind one of the finest examples from the Yarra, took the trophy for best Bordeaux style blend at the 2017 Yarra Valley Wine Show. I judged the show and I assure you the wine is superb. Sandra de Pury puts it well when noting “there’s an almost majestic quality to the elegance, depth and structure”, it is indeed majestic. If you love great medium bodied, yet long lived cabernet from the Yarra (as I do) this is a wine to cellar and lovingly enjoy.
There is very little press available at this stage, but we have tasted the wines and they are outstanding and we’ve no doub the reviews will be stellar when released.
