Our second shipment from Domaine Zind-Humbrecht is about to land. Contained within is the first of their 2018’s, all from the highly drinkable ‘Turckheim’ suite of wines. These are fruit forward, slippery and nicely articulated whites. Although these will most likely have been consumed before the new year, if a stray bottle is lost in the wine fridge they will probably hit their stride somewhere in the 3 to 5 year window of life. (After all these are “entry level” wines from a top shelf producer.)

Those who joined our recent masterclass with Paul McKirdy will understand the complete dedication to craft that permeates this estate from top to bottom.

The fruit for the Turckheim range comes from vineyards grown on the valley floor, the terroir here is composed of glacial debris, i.e rolled stones of granite or gneiss origin. Wine from these soils tend to have a lovely fruit profile underpinned with a stoney-mineral tension that screams ‘drink me’.

2018 was a warm and early year, likened in style to the stellar 2011 vintage. Having said that, a higher acid profile frames this vintage in its own light, giving more lift to the wines overall.

As is usually the case we are giving you the opportunity to stock up early at great prices.
