Our Italian half bottle offerings in the past have been hugely popular. It is comforting to have premium excellence on hand in the small format. This month we are focusing on the big guns in the mountainous North and the central plains of Tuscany.
We start in the beautiful DOC of Bardolino, overlooking the celebrity-infested Lake Garda with Cavalchina Bardolino 2015. Based on the same grapes as Valpolicella (Corvina, Rondinella & Molinara), it demonstrates a more sophisticated nuance than Valpolicella. From Piedmont Marcarini Barolo Brunate 2012. This is a Barolo traditionalist's favourite and one of the greatest producers in the region.
From the town of Loazzolo, a passito di Moscato vendemmia tardiva (late vintage Moscato raisin wine), made and bottled (the only of it's kind in Italy) in an area smaller than five hectares with eight passionate producers. Forteto della Luja Loazzalo 2008 is arguably the most famous of the small group.
To Tuscany and a pair of Chianti Classico. Firstly a new release from a Prince Wine Store favourite from Greve Querciabella Chianti Classico 2014 . Secondly, Le Corti Chianti Classico 2013, from the most Northern section of the town of San Casciano. Finally we finish with Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino 2005 one of the premiere producers of Brunello.
I have included reviews below. One of each of the wines is $315 on the shelf but we are doing this pack for $250, that's more than 20% off! What are you waiting for? We have a small number of these packs to sell and once they're gone, they're gone!!
