Synthetic cork a strange choice, though, that being said, there's no problem enjoying this wine 'in the now'. No new oak as I understand, and I think mainly stainless steel.

Lovely wine of intense purpleness. Blackcurrant, blackberry, violet and cracked black pepper over grilled steak. Medium bodied, minerally and well packed, though it feels fine boned and fresh too. Tannin is grainy and lends shape, bell-clear acidity, and a chalky finish of solid length. Pure Syrah fun, from a wonderful vintage. GARRY WALSH

(raised entirely in stainless steel tanks) Bright violet. Smoke-accented black and blue fruits, olive and a hint of musky earth on the deeply perfumed nose. Smooth and expansive on the palate, showing good energy to the deep cassis and bitter cherry flavors. Takes a sweeter turn with air and finishes long and broad, featuring gentle tannic grip and strong, spicy lift. ANTONIO GALLONI
