JULIAN LANGWORTHY, Head Winemaker at Deep Woods, Margaret River
Winner of the Jimmy Watson Trophy for the 2014 Deepwoods Reserve Cabernet, Julian Langworthy is a much loved and respected part of the wine community. His sharp palate and masterful ways make him a weapon in the cellar.
His colourful CV includes vintages abroad in France and Canada as well as time spent throughout South Australia in the Barossa, Clare and six years with Sue Hodder at Wynns Coonawarra. In 2011 he returned to his hometown of Margaret River and took up the Head Winemaker Position at Deep Woods Estate. He also has his own label, Nocturne which has quickly become available only on allocation.
We caught up for a quick chat recently and it was entertaining, as always.
