  1. Weihenstephaner Dunkel 500ml
    Weihenstephaner Dunkel 500ml

Our dark wheat beer is impressive with its creamy white foam. A fruity-fresh sweetness and hints of mature bananas harmonise with delicious flavours of roasted malt, sparkling and full-bodied with a light caramel taste on the first sip. An excellent accompaniment from hearty meals and game to chocolate and nut desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

    Weihenstephaner Kristal 500ml
In our golden-yellow crystal-clear wheat beer the fresh citrus flavour harmonises very well with spicy banana notes. The fine sparkling gives it a tangy and animated appearance. Throughout summer and winter, it’s a prickling experience. It goes well with fish, seafood, white meat or it can be enjoyed as an aperitif. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

  3. Gunderloch Fritz Riesling 2020
    Gunderloch Fritz Riesling 2020

How do they do it? This has been a PWS favourite for some time now and it never fails to deliver. Made by Rheinhessen legends Gunderloch with vineyards  close to the Rhines south-east steep slopes. The combination of the red slate soil, the proximity to the river, the exposure to the sun and the steepness of the vineyards - are perfect for producing wonderful ripeness. If you are a German riesling fan it would be hard to beat this for the sheer quality and insane value it represents.

The wine shows lovely stone fruit, peach and pithy characters as it opens in the glass. There is a salty mineral hit to that is really lovely. The fresh natural acidity zip through the ripe and spice flecked palate while a little aromatic lift gives this some real interest. Dry, fresh and full of character. PWS

  4. Salomon Undhof Gruner Veltliner Wieden 2017 375ml
Salomon Undhof Gruner Veltliner Wieden 2017 375ml
Bert Salomon is on a roll, having over the past several years achieved increasingly consistent and impressive results at what was already among the Kremstal’s longstanding best addresses, not to mention among the area’s historical leaders and earliest estate-bottlers of Riesling. DAVID SCHILDKNECHT, Vinous

Encircled by a massive property wall, the Wieden vineyard adjoins the winery. Vines from the Wieden old Gruner Veltliner rootstocks have also been planted on the terraces of the neighbouring Kreuzberg vineyard and this wine is a blend of the two sites. PWS

A seriously mineral and herbal grüner veltliner with a very satisfying combination of freshness and substance, the finish very clean but only moderately acidic.   Jamessuckling.com Sept 2018

From stony and sandy soils in Krems (Wieden, Wachtberg and Kögl, all planted with the old family clone), the 2017 Grüner Veltliner Wieden is ripe, bright and intense on the nose with delicate flinty aromas in the background. Juicy-piquant and mouthfilling, this is an elegant, intense, persistently aromatic and quite powerful but still delicious Veltliner with intense fruit and delicate freshness with grip and stimulating salinity. STEPEHN REINHARDT, The Wine Advocate, Dec 2018.

  5. Pittnauer Pitti Rose 2018
    Pittnauer Pitti Rose 2018
In a world of overhyped rosé, here's a pristine, flavoursome, tightly focused and refreshing expression from Pittnauer. Its floral bouquet of raspberries, red cherries and a whiff of citrus oil overlies a hint of meatiness. Long and brightly lit, with a juiciness that is never rich or cloying, its charmingly vivacious palate is underpinned by a fine chalkiness, finishing with a tangy, lemony acidity. It's a delightful combination of flavour, freshness and brightness.

  6. Groiss Gruner Veltliner 2020
    Groiss Gruner Veltliner 2020
What a gorgeous discovery this is! Ingrid Groiss returned to her parents property after studying winemaking has take over the family business since. A taste-off with her fathers wines against hers had her emerge as the clear victor and the family could not be happier.

All deft touch and instinct, Ingrid's philosophy in grounded on this love of these mature family vineyards. She picks by hand in several passes through the vineyards and ferments the juice using mainly ambient yeast. Oak is only a minor feature, but she makes the most of the fermentation lees to give texture and depth to her wines. PWS

Notes of green apple, ripe lemon and freshly cut pear flesh are most appetizing on the nose. The palate also brims with citrus freshness while riper fruit keeps flashing up amidst that bracing, lively briskness. The body is slender, vivid and dry.  ANNE KREBIEHL MW, Wine Enthusiast

  7. Georg Breuer Rudesheim Estate Riesling 2016
Georg Breuer Rudesheim Estate Riesling 2016
The 2016 Rheingau Riesling Rüdesheim "Estate" is super clear, bright and elegant on the nose, with lovely stony-mineral notes, almost stone dust but also beautiful concentration. On the palate, this is a round, juicy, very fruity but clear, piquant, well-structured and finely mineral Rheingau classic at 11.5% alcohol. It drinks perfectly today and will also do so over the next 15 to 20 years. Sweetness and acidity are in perfect balance here (8.4 grams per litre). A highly filigreed and delicate Riesling. 8. Wittmann Estate Riesling 2020
    Wittmann Estate Riesling 2020
Wonderful peach, melon and floral nose. Concentrated, racy and filigree with intense, chalky minerality at the long, polished and playful finish. STUART PIGOTT, jamessuckling.com

Gorgeously juicy little number that delivers ample punch and intensity as it races across the palate. So primary and full of life right now that it's a joy to drink at this early stage. Pithy, grippy, mineral and enlivening, this is yet another exemplary estate Riesling from the master. As completely delicious as it is now I would like to see it in a decade or so, but opening one now, or in fact at any time in its evolution, won't be a shame. Ripping wine. ROSCOE

  9. Knoll Gruner Veltliner Loibner Federspiel 2020
Knoll Gruner Veltliner Loibner Federspiel 2020
Yellow fruit with a whiff of fennel and radish spiciness. It has a fleshy feel and powdery texture, bright acidity, lemon zest, a nutty and saline character, a hit of pepper, and a gently bitter finish of excellent length. Weighty, but still kind of light on its feet. Always a lovely drink, and so it is in 2020. GARY WALSH, The Wine Front August 2021
