    Weihenstephaner Dunkel 500ml

Our dark wheat beer is impressive with its creamy white foam. A fruity-fresh sweetness and hints of mature bananas harmonise with delicious flavours of roasted malt, sparkling and full-bodied with a light caramel taste on the first sip. An excellent accompaniment from hearty meals and game to chocolate and nut desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

    Weihenstephaner Kristal 500ml
In our golden-yellow crystal-clear wheat beer the fresh citrus flavour harmonises very well with spicy banana notes. The fine sparkling gives it a tangy and animated appearance. Throughout summer and winter, it’s a prickling experience. It goes well with fish, seafood, white meat or it can be enjoyed as an aperitif. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

  3. Santa Ana Homage Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Santa Ana Homage Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Bodegas Santa Ana was founded in 1891 by Don Luis Tirasso, who was a pioneer in the viticulture development in Argentina. For over a century, Santa Ana winery has harmonized tradition and technology, which has resulted in Santa Ana wines being recognized for its quality at National and International levels.

Innovation is the key to Bodegas Santa Ana's success and their devotion to continually improving the quality of their wines.

This is classic cabernet territory here but in a focused and mid-weight style - think a combo between Margaret river and Yarra Valley. Black-currant and cocoa dusting on the nose with a touch of beautifully directed oak that just peaks in at the right time. Medium bodied all the way with perfectly sweet fruit buttressed by fine tannins and is finely poised. Spot on and so easy to enjoy.

  4. Gunderloch Fritz Riesling 2020
    Gunderloch Fritz Riesling 2020

How do they do it? This has been a PWS favourite for some time now and it never fails to deliver. Made by Rheinhessen legends Gunderloch with vineyards  close to the Rhines south-east steep slopes. The combination of the red slate soil, the proximity to the river, the exposure to the sun and the steepness of the vineyards - are perfect for producing wonderful ripeness. If you are a German riesling fan it would be hard to beat this for the sheer quality and insane value it represents.

The wine shows lovely stone fruit, peach and pithy characters as it opens in the glass. There is a salty mineral hit to that is really lovely. The fresh natural acidity zip through the ripe and spice flecked palate while a little aromatic lift gives this some real interest. Dry, fresh and full of character. PWS

  5. Vina Ventisquero Pinot Noir 2019
    Vina Ventisquero Pinot Noir 2019
Vina Ventisquera, established in 1998, are now a large consolidated company making a swathe of wines off prime Chilean vineyards. While the operation is a bit of a behemoth, their focus on quality and access to excellent source material means they can output some really fantastic wine and extremely affordable prices.

The pinot opens up to an attractively fresh overlay of dried herbs and bright red berries with fine perfume. It takes a bit of swirling to open up but once it does it looks really pretty with nicely poised red fruits that run a sleek line down the middle of the wine. There is a nice focus and energy to the wines and does a great job. If you can decant this you will be rewarded handsomely with a perfect Autumn red. PWS

  6. Bouchon Pais Viejo 2019
    Bouchon Pais Viejo 2019
Bouchon Family Wines began in the late 19th century when young viticulturist Emile Bouchon left Bordeaux, France for Chile. Today, Julio Bouchon and his children carry on their 4th generation family winemaking tradition in the Maule Valley.  With their in-depth soil research alongside terroir-specialist Pedro Parra, Bouchon is preserving the historic character of the Maule Valley with distinctive, terroir-driven wines.

The vines for the Viejo bottling are planted on very old soil of granitic, sandy loam formed by Chile’s coastal mountains. This striking landscape plays a huge role int the wines development and for those who have never tried the wines they are akin to a mix between pinot noir, mencia and cinsault. Naturally-vinified using century-old winemaking techniques, including the use of the zaranda (a structure made of sticks to destem the grape clusters). Hand harvested and fermented with native yeasts in concrete tanks to preserve the wine’s authentic expression of terroir.

The hundred year-old vines show with earthy red fruits like strawberry and bright cherry flecks. It's light and lithe on its feet but never feels thin. Vibrant and sunny in style with no winemaking artifcat or trickery, just pure and simply delicious.

  7. Georg Breuer Rudesheim Estate Riesling 2016
Georg Breuer Rudesheim Estate Riesling 2016
The 2016 Rheingau Riesling Rüdesheim "Estate" is super clear, bright and elegant on the nose, with lovely stony-mineral notes, almost stone dust but also beautiful concentration. On the palate, this is a round, juicy, very fruity but clear, piquant, well-structured and finely mineral Rheingau classic at 11.5% alcohol. It drinks perfectly today and will also do so over the next 15 to 20 years. Sweetness and acidity are in perfect balance here (8.4 grams per litre). A highly filigreed and delicate Riesling. Pedro Parra y Familia Vinista Pais 2018

Pedro has a master’s degree in precision agriculture and earned a Ph.D. for his work with terroir from the Paris Center of Agriculture.

This is his first release of Pais which was one of Chile's first and most immportant grape varieties. Pais fell out of favour during the modernistaion of the Chilean wine industry and has only recently found a resurgence amonst the new generation, low intervention wine labels.  Young makers, reviving old vines. 9. Wittmann Estate Riesling 2020
    Wittmann Estate Riesling 2020
Wonderful peach, melon and floral nose. Concentrated, racy and filigree with intense, chalky minerality at the long, polished and playful finish. STUART PIGOTT, jamessuckling.com

Gorgeously juicy little number that delivers ample punch and intensity as it races across the palate. So primary and full of life right now that it's a joy to drink at this early stage. Pithy, grippy, mineral and enlivening, this is yet another exemplary estate Riesling from the master. As completely delicious as it is now I would like to see it in a decade or so, but opening one now, or in fact at any time in its evolution, won't be a shame. Ripping wine. ROSCOE

  10. Knoll Gruner Veltliner Loibner Federspiel 2020
Knoll Gruner Veltliner Loibner Federspiel 2020
Yellow fruit with a whiff of fennel and radish spiciness. It has a fleshy feel and powdery texture, bright acidity, lemon zest, a nutty and saline character, a hit of pepper, and a gently bitter finish of excellent length.
