  1. Robert Weil Kiedricher Riesling Trocken 2018
Robert Weil Kiedricher Riesling Trocken 2018

This is a blend of many parcels of younger vines and higher-elevation plantings and it has a very fresh, vibrant and vivid lemon-citrus nose with a succulent, smooth and intense palate. Elegant and very impressive. STUART PIGOTT, jamessuckling.com

From younger vines cultivated from the three crus of the domain plus fruit from the Wasseros, which is located above the Gräfenberg, the 2018 Kiedricher Riesling Trocken displays a bright color and an intense and concentrated bouquet with white fruit aromas and very fine slate and earthy aromas. Round and lush on the palate, this is a well-structured, slightly phenolic and still slightly bitter dry Riesling with a long and firm, very promising and refreshing, salty finish. This is a still a baby but an excellent, tight 2018 Riesling from Kiedrich. STEPHAN REINHARDT, Wine Advocate

  2. Eva Fricke Rheingau Riesling Lorcher Shlossberg Spatlese 2018
Eva Fricke Rheingau Riesling Lorcher Shlossberg Spatlese 2018

Compared with the Kiedricher Klosterberg, this smells a little more floral, less pear and more apricot. Sweeter on the palate, luscious but with a fine stony, crisp lemon freshness. Crystalline persistence, so pure. Definitely tastes sweeter than the Kiedricher Klosterberg Spätlese but perfectly balanced by the fresh acidity. (17+) JULIA HARDING MW

The 2018 Lorcher Schlossberg Riesling Spätlese is coolish, precise and flinty on the more reductive and lime-scented nose than its Klosterberg sibling. Lush yet crystalline and salty-piquant on the palate, this is a generous, enormously lush and super sexy Spätlese with succulent fruit that covers your palate. There are 90 grams of residual sugar, but there is nothing left but gorgeously ripe Riesling fruit from rocky slate. A fabulous Spätlese bottled with 8% alcohol. Tasted from AP 9 19. You can drink it now, but don't be sad if there is nothing left in 20+ years. STEPHAN REINHARDT, Wine Advocate
