  1. Delord Bas Armagnac XO 10 yr 200ml Mini's
Delord Bas Armagnac XO 10 yr 200ml Mini's

Situated in Bas-Armagnac, vineyards are made up of Colombard, Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grape varieties. The distillery is to be found in the village of Lannepax, the ancestral home of the Delord family. The distillation, the most essential and fascinating stage in the production of Armagnac, takes place at the beginning of November through to the end of December. Their old Sier Armagnac alambics, that they wouldn't part with for all the gold in the world, produce less than 30 litres of eau-de-vie an hour. Delord cellars contain old treasured vintages and include more than 700 oak barrels that protect and age the Armagnac eau-de-vie dating from the 20th Century to the present day.

Delord thanks to their vision have stored such quantities of good Armagnacs for such a long time that they have the resource to be very competitive in price for the same quality. They also concentrate on Armagnac styles, very rounded, soft and easy to drink, that they are amongst the most successful producers.

Caramel, candy, vanilla, nut and a whole selection of tasting goodies. A rustic opening which rounds out all the way with hints of rancio that travels from fruitiness to sweetness and vice versa. A spiral of dried fruit, citrus peel, vanilla, caramel, spiced oak, grape, nutty, rancio, prunes, cinnamon.

  2. Tasmanian Spirit Company Barrel Aged Tasmanian Malt 375ml
Tasmanian Spirit Company Barrel Aged Tasmanian Malt 375ml

Tasmanian Spirits Company is a Brand owned by Devil's distillery located in the suburb of Moonah Tasmania. Created in 2014, they produce some of the finest Single Malt on the Island.

Using 100% Tasmanian Barley, the ferment is made on site before distillation.

Tasmanian Malt is handcrafted solely from three ingredients – Tasmanian malted barley, Tasmanian water, and yeast. Batch distilled, then rested in American Oak, Ex-bourbon cask just under 24 months.

  3. Monkey Shoulder Whiskey 700ml
    Monkey Shoulder Whiskey 700ml
The nose is nice and sweet with sherry, not quite ripe plum, cinnamon sprinkled baked pears (pretentious, I know, but I think that describes it better than pear and cinnamon separately), butterscotch, barley and strawberry. There is also a distinctively Bourbon-esque vanilla note. Very pleasant nose, I would rate it highly amongst blends so far as aroma goes. The palate is surprisingly tangy with a heathery/sweet nutty honey sweetness which is paired with tinned fruit, citrus and mint. Towards the end you’ll also notice some oak notes and orange peel which stay in the finish which is medium-long. The nose is more impressive, but the palate has nothing to be ashamed of. I could see this going really well in a Rob Roy, actually.

A blended Scotch from William Grant, Monkey Shoulder features a proportion of whisky from Kininvie, Balvenie and Glenfiddich. The nose is of medium-body and quite sweet. There are notes of milkshake, spice, a touch of strawberry jam and a little barley sweetness. The palate is of medium-body and quite well-balanced. There are notes of mint and crème anglaise, a distinct fruit salad note with honeyed sweetness. The finish is of medium-length with developing oak.
  4. Starward Whisky - Two Fold (700ml)
Starward Whisky - Two Fold (700ml)
Our vision has always been to create a whisky that is not only world class in quality and craftsmanship but accessible to all, regardless of how you choose to enjoy it.
Two-Fold is our biggest step in that ambitious direction - a double grain whisky that is entirely matured in our signature Australian red wine barrels. A union of Australia's two most quintessential grains; Wheat and Malted Barley, coming together to create a flavor-forward whisky that is filled with rich complexities driven by the power of two grains. Matured in Melbourne's intensely reactive climate, leading to a beautifully balanced and incredibly versatile sipping whisky. The nose is filled with spiced vanilla and fresh tropical fruit. Whilst the palate is flowing with hints of Fuji apples, roasted pineapple, lightly toasted oak, and a soft tannic finish. STARWARD
  5. Mars Iwai Wine Cask Whisky (750ml)
Mars Iwai Wine Cask Whisky (750ml)

Limited edition of IWAI Tradition Blended whisky. Aged in red wine (CabernetSauvignon) cask more than one year. On nose, light floral, fruity, hints of orange peel, and chocolate. Rich and fruity flavour with smooth texture, delicate tannin, vanilla, honey, caramel and red wine/oak character. Medium length, spicy followed by aromas of wine casks. It presents with a little red berry over-tone and an extra dimension that it gives a little extra lift and lilt. This is done really well and we often don't love 'wine' expressions but this is on the money. PWS

  6. Chichibu Ichiro's Malt & Grain Whisky (700ml)
    Chichibu Ichiro's Malt & Grain Whisky (700ml)
Ichiro Akuto's most voluminous and accessible Whisky is, as it says on the label, a blend of Malt and Grain Whiskies. While the exact source of the material is not published, we know it's a blend of Japanese distilled material vatted with Whiskies sourced from around the world. In addition to Whisky from his own stocks--including, potentially, Hanyu and Karuizawa, as well as his own Chichibu--the blend contains spirits from Canada, the United States, Ireland and Scotland. The imported Whiskeys are 3-5-years-old, aged in their country of origin before being carefully blended with local Japanese material and matured a further 1-3 years at Chichibu. The Whisky is vatted in 2 x 5,000-litre wooden barrels built by French cooper Taransaud. Non-chill filtered, non-coloured.
  7. Kirin Fuji-Sanroku Signature Blend Whisky (700ml)
Kirin Fuji-Sanroku Signature Blend Whisky (700ml)
Gold Medal - World Whisky Awards 2018

Launched in Japan in 2018 as a premium label replacement of the massively successful Fuji Sanroku Tarujukugenshu 50°. Each casks used in this blend is hand selected by Kirin's Jota Tanaka, the 2017 Icons of Whisky Master Distiller/Master Blender of the Year.

Nose: Toffee, pineapple, passion fruit, apricot jam.
Palate: Orange, rye spice, nutmeg, cloves, apricot jam, pineapple, wood shavings, passion fruit.
Finish: Very well controlled wood. Rye spice, smooth bourbon, passion fruit, pineapple and apricot jam.

Fuji-Gotemba Distillery’s talent for grain whisky is evident here, with a nose of waxy green leaves, whole peppercorn, and fleeting glimpses of lemon peel, lime zest, and white peach amid the airy, floral top notes. It has a serene, calming quality to it. Spicy pepper, orange peel, mouth-coating vanilla, creamy toffee, and crunchy apple, with a clean finish, like orange flesh laid out on hot stones. 90 points, JONNY MCCORMICk, whiskyadvocate.com

  9. Fleurieu Distillery Message in a Bottle Whisky 52% (700ml)
Fleurieu Distillery Message in a Bottle Whisky 52% (700ml)

MIB is all about softness, texture, balance, maltiness and just the right amount of oak. And it has it by the bucket loads as it is so rich and textured. There's hints of cinnamon, soy sauce, soft citrus fruitiness and lingering barley sugar flavours mixed with a hint of vanilla icecream at the end. Only 460 bottles were produced. 52.9% alc/vol from a marriage of several first fill ex-Seppeltsfield port casks. Unpeated, 700ml bottles.

Nose: Oily and fruity, lots of jam like characters and then vanilla icecream.

Palate: Dryer than the nose would suggest and a bit tighter, the alcohol is more restrained.

Finish: Jam, autumn leaves, dried fruit leather, some bitter lemon/orange and salted caramel.

Comment: Very Australian nose with fruity jams (apricot, fig and almond, blackberry and blueberry) and just a touch of herbal thymol.
