  1. il Modo Rosso 2019
    il Modo Rosso 2019
With no nerello mascalese plantings in Australia, Nadeson has fermented sangiovese, pinot noir, aglianico, sagrantino, nebbiolo and shiraz in an amphora and miraculously made a wine with finesse and inky tannins. This medium bodied red tempts with heady violets, licorice root and black plums on the nose. The palate flows, entwined with a meaty tone alongside the florals and spice. This has dimension and texture, and is very delicious. GABRIELLE POY, PWS

  2. Petilia Le Sepaie Irpinia Aglianico 2017
Petilia Le Sepaie Irpinia Aglianico 2017
In the 2017 Aglianico Le Sepaie I’m finding a savory display, leading off with a whiff of animal musk and smoky minerals, as notes of black cherry, spice, violet florals, and dark earth tones come forward. On the palate, soft textures give way to fresh red fruits, offset by zesty acids and spice, as a coating of minerals drench the senses. The finish is long yet energetic, as acids linger, along with spicy red berries and a hint of young tannin. The 2017 Le Sepaie has energy to burn and drinks beautifully today, yet it should also excel over the next five or more years in the cellar. It offers tremendous value. ERIC GUIDO, Vinous Media

  3. Chalmers Aglianico 2016
    Chalmers Aglianico 2016
In the quest for grapes which produce excellent wines in warm Aussie conditions in the face of climate change, Aglianico has won the race. A late ripening grape, it cruises through summer to ripen slowly in the cooler autumn months giving a lower alcohol yet complex and refined red wine capable of long ageing.  Made in a chestnut botte and bottle aged before release, Chalmers Aglianico has earned its place at the top of the range showing all the hallmarks of a great red wine. Poise and structure, freshness and complexity, this wine has it all. Open a bottle with friends over dinner, in every glass you’ll find something new to love. WINERY NOTE

  4. Bosco de Medici Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Rosso ‘Lavarubra’ 2019
Bosco de Medici Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Rosso ‘Lavarubra’ 2019
The Azienda Agricola Bosco de Medici vineyards sit at the foothills of Mt Vesuvias overlooking the ruins of Pompei and has a fascinating history.

In 1567, a branch of the Florentine Medici dynasty, moved to the Kingdom of Naples by purchasing an estate of it. Luigi de' Medici, Prime Minister of the Kingdom, eager to enrich the wine cellar of the Neapolitan residence with noble wines of the feud gave the favourite nephew Giuseppe de' Medici the task of raising the quality of the wines of the family.

This is made from native varietals piedirosso and aglianico with winemaking in cool ferment, stainless steel with light maceration with the aim to keep the wine nice 'n ' juicy  -  nailed it! This is such an intriguing wine with whisps of smokey, charry fruit from the aglianico that is tempered by the lightl-on-its-feet piedirosso. There is a malty, cocoa element to the wine that is flecked with cherry ripe and dried fruits. Very cool!
