  1. Chapoutier La Combe Pilate Viognier 2017
Chapoutier La Combe Pilate Viognier 2017

The Chapoutiere range is huge and it is incredible to behold the quality across the board from this famous producer given the sheer amount of wine they make.

This is off his families, mixed-use farm and sits outside the typical Condrieu framework both in style and place.

There is an intriguing struck-flint, mineral note mixed with floral edges and fresh apricot. It's zippy an fresh with vibrant peach and apricot fruit to the fore. It lively and full of energy and raring to go. PWS

  2. Langmeil Three Gardens Viognier Roussane Marsanne 2019
Langmeil Three Gardens Viognier Roussane Marsanne 2019
A classic blend of three of the noblest French Rhône white varieties - Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne. A fruity, rich and textural fusion bursting with stone fruit, grapefruit, honeysuckle fresh cut herb and a lemon curd zing. This is have lovely cut and nervy energy that sits beautifully within a fleshy and ripe frame. This is a real surprise and a perfect winter white with its textural body.

In keeping with the old Barossa vignerons' name for their vineyards, the three 'Gardens' for this blend have been selected from the Lyndoch vineyard in the Southern Barossa Valley, the Marsanne from Gomersal on the Western Ridge and the Roussanne from the high rolling hills of Eden Valley. Each were picked relatively early then fermented separately at low temperatures to retain freshness. This was followed by five months' tank maturation on lees (a polite way of saying dead yeast) to build complexity and palate weight before blending and bottling.

  3. By Farr Viognier 2019
    By Farr Viognier 2019
It’s fragrant and scented, with hints of apricot, musky blossom, chamomile and whispers of yeastiness. The palate is smooth and refined, seamless yet rich, with just enough phenolic backbone for balanced structure. Barrel input is subliminal, yet its influence enhances the “feel” of the wine beautifully. The finish is very long and hauntingly aromatic. (95) RALPH KYTE-POWELL, The Real Review

  4. Lerida Estate Shiraz Viognier 2016
    Lerida Estate Shiraz Viognier 2016
This wine is made from fruit (95% Shiraz 5% Viognier) grown on our vineyard at Lake George. It is cold soaked for 5 days before fermentation (up to 35º) with hand plunging 3 times a day, then pressed off to French oak barriques to mature for 11 months. The wine has an intense nose of red berries, plums, cinnamon, pepper, apricot and vanilla aromas with a rich and savoury palate backed by a long fine grain tannin finish. This wine will cellar for 5-8 years. LERIDA ESTATE

  5. Andre Perret Condrieu 'Coteau de Chery' 2018
Andre Perret Condrieu 'Coteau de Chery' 2018
From Viognier planted in 1948 on Chéry at Condrieu.

Translucent yellow. Seductively perfumed aromas of passion fruit, pear nectar, white peach and orange zest, along with suggestions of jasmine and tarragon. At once concentrated and lively, offering vibrant, mineral-laced orchard and pit fruit flavors that are complicated by a suave, steadily building floral nuance. Finishes with a strong jolt of minerality, repeating florality and noteworthy persistence. This wine's blend of power and finesse is quite something. JOSH RAYNOLDS, vinous.com
