  1. Heritiers Comtes Lafon Macon Milly Lamartine 2019
Heritiers Comtes Lafon Macon Milly Lamartine 2019
This 1.3ha site is perhaps the best of the Lafon holdings in the Maconnais. The east-facing vines are located in the middle of the slope, in a semicircle, just outside the village. Fermented and aged for nearly one year in casks, showing great elegance and breed, with a firm citrus underpinning the ripe apple fruit. The texture on the palate is rich and dense, but adequately balanced by crisp acidity. CHARLES CURTIS MW, Decanter

  2. Boisseau Pinot Noir Terre de Chazeux 2017
Boisseau Pinot Noir Terre de Chazeux 2017
2012 was the inaugural vintage for Delphine and Sébastien Boisseau's 7.5-hectare Domaine La Vigne Mouton, an estate committed to organic farming that sold its fruit to the local cooperative for the previous 15 years. Winemaking here is minimalist, eschewing sulfur dioxide, fining or filtration, but the quality of what I tasted was very promising. It's exciting to see some ambition in Mâcon-Bray, the northernmost AOC of the Mâconnais. WILLIAM KELLEY, The Wine Advocate

  3. Heritiers Comtes Lafon Macon Milly Lamartine 2019 1500ml
Heritiers Comtes Lafon Macon Milly Lamartine 2019 1500ml

The Lafon family established this important domaine in the village of Milly-Lamartine in 1999, and it now amounts to over 25 hectares, all farmed biodynamically. Vinification is mostly in foudres and demi-muids, though the domaine's Pouilly-Fuissé ferments in used 225-liter barrels, with élevage typically completed with a few months on the lees in stainless steel. Caroline Gon runs the estate, overseen by Dominique Lafon. The rich, concentrated 2019 vintage has played into the estate's hands, resulting in chiseled, nicely balanced wines that all come recommended.

The 2019 Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine wafts from the glass with notes of pear, fresh bread, citrus zest, warm biscuits and light reduction. Medium to full-bodied, ample and lively, with a pretty core of fruit and a saline finish, it was matured two-thirds in foudre, one-third in demi muids. WILLIAM KELLEY, Robert Parker
