  1. Craiglee Shiraz 2016
    Craiglee Shiraz 2016

Owner/winemaker Pat Carmody in fine touch here with the grape that made his and Craiglee's reputation. Signature black pepper with wild thyme, sage, acacia and ripe, sweet black berries. Launches into a savoury world of game and earth and background notes of hoisin and undergrowth. Quite the dark and brooding kind of cool climate shiraz. A stunner. JENI PORT, James Halliday

Deep purple in colour. Instantly you get a waft of incense, wood smoke and an array of ripe, darkly inviting fruit. It's pretty much text book Craiglee Shiraz with one small caveat, it feels a little more concentrated and powerful this year. It's loaded up with flavour and it's forthcoming in its delivery, offering a sumptuous profile of fruit and spice with graphite like tannins and retaining a cool edge to things. Classic Craiglee but again, more muscle and the sense is it's a bit more compact than the last few vintages. That's a great thing if you're patient. One that in 10-20 years time will sing. ROSCOE

  2. Craiglee Shiraz 2017
    Craiglee Shiraz 2017
Pure, unadulterated Craiglee shiraz. Nothing like it. It's the fragrance, the confluence of dark and red fruit, the grind of black pepper, the thyme and its savoury nature. It retains a certain elegance and length across the more medium-bodied palate. Fresh acidity and grainy tannins neatly in tow. Lovely now, even better in years to come.
