Adelina Eternal Return Arneis 2021
I’d have to say, the 2021 white wines are looking very good. This is from a 1990 planted vineyard in Kuipto, and a portion sees a little time in barrel.
Musky perfume, green pear, some raw almond, a citrus and smoky candle thing happening. Fresh, crunch and tang, almost a lime and Riesling-like intensity, a little chalky texture, frisky and pretty long. Maybe not the most typical style of Arneis, but such a good drink. A smattering of dried green herb bitterness in there, which is nice. I like it. Excellent GARY WALSH, The Wine Front

Cosa Nostra Arneis 2019Sourced from Coldstream, one of the very few sources of Arneis in the Yarra. Fermented both wild and with flavour-enhancing yeast in neutral wood before extended time on full solids. This, the wine one drinks in the Piemonte when desperate for a white, is fresh and light of alcohol (11.6%) and yet with all the buildup of texture, far richer in the mouth. Pear, apple and baking spice. NED GOODWIN, MW. winecompanion.com2019ArneisAustralia506$32.00 As low as $28.80

Correggia Roero Arneis 2020 (Screwcap)
Correggia is one of those rare and special producers that we are very proud to be associated with. A family affair from the outset with a vision to demonstrate just how good Roero could be. That vision continues to be realised and built upon today with the hard-work and dedication of Ornella, Giovanni and Luca the driving force.
Small tweaks and incremental changes in vinification and winemaking have seen the wines improve every year. The quality across the board has always been top of their class and further cements this outstanding estate as one of the pre-eminent producers in the region. It would certainly be no stretch to call them a leading light in the heart and hearts of Roero.
This is another great rendition. A hint of tropical fruit that lends an almost riesling like element to the wine, along with a floral hint. There is a some lovely depth to the fruit and that bit of extra flesh show so nicely on this wine. Still fresh and zippy on the finish with a little phenolic grip that carries the orchard fruits into a long, gentle close. Yum!

Correggia Roero Arneis 2019A teasing mix of spiced pears, fennel and almonds lead on this detailed savoury white. On the palate, it’s juicy and bright with a fine trickle of acidity. Chewy phenolics on the finish, thanks to some judicious skin contact during fermentation adds dimension and complexity. A lovely refreshing white with delicacy and intrigue. Valfaccenda Arneis 2020Yes! With so many average Arneis out there the quality and style of this is as refreshing as the wine is. Sure, there is the usual pear, white flowers and mint but its tinged with lemon oil and oily herbs. The palate absolutely bursts on to the palate with a big ol' whack of crackling acidity that pushes a pretty impressive volume of fruit pulsing across your mouth. Little punctuations of pithy, chalky characters just manage to make themselves felt before being swept clean by all that beautifully invigorating. Finishes long, with a juicy character, a little flash of appealing bitterness and a final twang of sour lemon that leaves your taste buds quivering. I want to drink all of this wine.
Often, with wines like this, I would make a note about what I wanted to eat, because I am always hungry when writing notes like these. For this though, I just want some sunshine and good company. Will go with plenty of food, but its so enjoyable that it certainly doesn't need it. ROSCOE

Idlewild The Bee Flora and Fauna White Wine 2017
Proprietor Sam Bilbro has spent virtually a lifetime around wine. His family owns Marietta, while brothers Jake and Scot are behind the reborn Limerick Lane. At Idlewild, Sam Bilbro focuses on Italian and other less well-known varieties. In addition to these wines, I also tasted the, Arneis Fox Hill Vineyard, Vin Gris Dry Creek Valley and Grenache Gris Gibson Ranch. The best wines in this range are compelling, and point to a bright future. ANTONIO GALLONI, www.vinousmedia.com
Having had a relationship with the Bilbro family as importers of the Marietta wines some years ago we were delighted to find youngest son, Sam, was behind this new venture, Idlewild. In many ways the wines are the anitpathy of what so many believe Californian wines are supposed to be. Hunting out heritage stands of Italian and Rhone varietals (mostly in Mendocino County) Bilbro makes extremely interesting wines characterised by texture, savouriness and subtlety. Skin contact is a part of the wines as is a relatively non-interventionist approach; both indicative of the preferences of the younger brigade of Calfornia producers. PWS

Correggia Roero Arneis Val di Preti 2014 Museum ReleaseAn alluring nose of mealy spice, stonefruit and a whisper of ginger excite. This is a unique wine, it shows development yet retains freshness and vibrancy. The honeyed palate highlights flavours of crushed rocks and spiced pears. It’s aging gracefully, tertiary notes are emerging but it's still very fresh and reminiscent of an aging Chablis. GABRIELLE POY, PWS2014ArneisItaly457$70.00 As low as $63.00
