  1. 22 Degrees Kaleidoscope of Mayhem Halo White 2020
22 Degrees Kaleidoscope of Mayhem Halo White 2020
A relatively new label of Ashley Ratcliff of Ricca Terra, bringing together familiar varieties with new, climate adaptive planting. We are big fans of what he is doing and big fans of this style of white particuarly with warmer weather creeping in. This a the perfect blend of zip and punch with plenty of character and so easy to down.

Blend here is Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Vermentino and Zibbibo.  A fun, leap-from-the-glass style, Sauvignon's tropical fruits meet the unmistakably grapey qualities of Zibbibo, a summer fruit salad of flavours.  Juicy and gluggable, though under its overt appeal there's some interest, focus and proper complexity.

  2. La Guardiense Fiano Sannio DOC 2018
La Guardiense Fiano Sannio DOC 2018
La Guardiense is one of the largest and most respected cooperative wineries in the Italy, founded in 1962 with over 1000 growers tending 2000 hectares on vines on their books supplying fruit to the winery. They control some of the finest Falanghina, Fiano and Aglianico vineyards within the Beneventano IGT appellation. Producing a range of wines from across the DOC's of Campania, La Guardiense has built a solid reputation for both the quality of the vineyard sources and the wines they release in bottle giving a fascinating glimpse into the varied wine styles of this much improved region of Italy.

Multiple award winning domestically, this is ultimate Summer fare. Straw yellow with green highlights, distinctive floral aroma and white fruits. Fiano's home in the warmer south always lends itself to have a little richness and weight which is perfect for the spring wether. There is a nice exoctic edge to the white/yellow fruits and peppery hit at the end. Enjoy before, during or after long Spring and Summer lunches! PWS

  3. Bondar Fiano 2021
    Bondar Fiano 2021

"There must be a bit of magic behind Bondar. All of the wines have an ethereal quality" JANE FAULKNER, Halliday Wine Companion

We couldn't agree more. There does seem to be a little bit of magic going on behind the scenes here. Certainly great vineyards play their part here but a lot has to be said for what Andre Bondar is doing with the wines. Chat with him and he always reveals a beautifully considered and thoughtful approach to wine making that shines through.

Their fiano is spot on text-book style fiano but with a little extra flash of fruit and texture that is often either over-exaggerated or under-done in Italian examples. This version marries the varietals natural tendency to flesh out with a wonderful zip and freshness that pulls it together nicely. A touch of exotic tropical fruits and some lemony pith play off each other wonderfully. A little mineral twang keeps things interesting and while there is plenty of plush fruit it remains fresh and vibrant.

  5. Unico Zelo Jade & Jasper Fiano 2021
Unico Zelo Jade & Jasper Fiano 2021
Brendan and Laura are both winemakers and their Unico Zelo label is a stalwart in the stores here. With a particular focus on Italian varietals they have been showcasing what a little care, alot of love and a good dash of fun can do with wines from the Riverland region. Great labels, cracking wines and good people. How can you can go wrong!?

Elegant whiffs of jasmine and white peach blossoms, racy and crackling acidity with distinct Fiano texture. This has plenty of pithy zip and a little grip on the palate along with a lovely fresh snap that is often missing from fiano. Nice, crunchy fruits drive through the mouth to a bursting finish that leaves you wanting more. Delicious stuff!

A touch of spicyness over a tropical citrushit complemented by sweet florals. Apple and tree fruit in a silky and lush frame gives way to some peach and minerals salt, quartzy thing going on. Love the sweet fruit and salty tang this comes at you with and some nice zip of crisp acidity keeps it fresh and vibrant.

  8. Quintodecimo Exultet Fiano d'Avellino DOCG 2018
Quintodecimo Exultet Fiano d'Avellino DOCG 2018

Nothing like these has ever come out of Campania before; the wines are unbelievably intense without being heavy or cloying, displaying such deep, vivid varietal and terroir character. Frighteningly good wines. JUSTERINI & BROOKS

Quintodecimo is one of the most remarkable estates in Italy and certainly must be the greatest estate in Campania. Situated in the Irpina sub-zone about 40 minutes east of Naples the estate is the brainchild of famed oenologist/professor/thinker, Luigi Moio. The estate’s genesis came a little over 10 years ago and represents the fruition of Moio’s life’s work in wine.

The son of one of Campania’s better producing families, Moio’s career fanned out from there to include a long stint learning and making wine in France followed by various winemaking consultancies for many of the current accepted stars of the region. Despite his growing status within Campania and the world (by this stage he was guesting at international wine conferences talking about his research work) he was frustrated with the local industry’s reluctance to really embrace the highest levels of quality in favour of more expedient and cost efficient outcomes. And so, Quintodecimo was born; a 10 hectare property at Mirabella Eclano

Pale straw-green. Clean, fresh aromas and flavors of chlorophyll, candied lime peel, bittersweet herbs and sweet pear skin. Closes very long and fresh, with hints of apple nectar. IAN D'AGATA, Vinous

  9. Quintodecimo Giallo d'Arles Greco di Tufo DOCG 2018
Quintodecimo Giallo d'Arles Greco di Tufo DOCG 2018

Bright medium yellow. Ripe banana, peach, custard cream and marzipan on the nose and in the mouth. Fresh and ripely tannic on the long, suave finish. A much more refined version of Greco wine than is normally encountered, but owner Luigi Moio has showcased an uncanny and unique talent with this grape variety over the years. Yet another standout Greco di Tufo from the Quintodecimo estate. Well done. IAN D'AGATA, Vinous
