Roche de Bellene Bellenos Rouge 2018
The Bellenos Cuvée Rouge is primarily from the Beaujolais area in the south of Burgundy, where fruity, mineral-inflected Gamay Noir is grown on granite soils. It is blended with finely structured Pinot Noir from the Côte d’Or in northern Burgundy. The result is a fresh, fruit-forward “Vin de Plaisir” — a deliciously expressive wine for everyday enjoyment.

    Chapoutier Costiere de Nimes 2017
Opens with crème de mure, wild forest fruits and summer raspberries. Plenty of mulled spices and wild herbs. The palate is full and ripe with a tangy hit of salty liquorice on the close. The tannins are soft and plush and provide a nice frame for the fruit to hang off. PWS

  3. Reine Juliette Carignan 2019
    Reine Juliette Carignan 2019
The Domaine Reine Juliette sits along the southern side of the modern A9, which historically was the Via Domitia which connected Italy to Spain. Guillaume and his sister Marion inherited the estate from his parents in 1985, and they are now joined by his son in working the land. Together they are the 6th and 7th generations of Allies making wine at Reine Juliette.

Harvested early (August) to keep some freshness and also because the summer was very dry and warm. 15 days cold maceration, malolactic fermentation, aged 6 months in concrete tanks. Very drinkable Carignan. The dark fruit character shows very well with silky tannins, touch of chopped herbs and pepperiness."

  4. Des Grande Esperances Java Rouge 2019
Des Grande Esperances Java Rouge 2019
This is a cracking Blend of gamay 60% malbec 20% and cabernet Franc 20% made by the team at Domaines de Grande Esperances. They are geared towards quality production and organic farming base in the Loire Valley and working with about 24 hectares of land and 8 varietals. These are fun and delicious wines that don't take themselves to seriously but still over-deliver in spades.

A lifted fruit punch of red fruits - think strawberry, raspberry, sour cherry and red currant that leap out of the glass. A wild spicy note carries the bold fruit turning round into lovely savoury peppery sprinkles. There is a light lick of tannin that keeps this all-in check. Yum!

  5. Damien Pinon Tuffo Vouvray Sec 2018
Damien Pinon Tuffo Vouvray Sec 2018

Damien Pinon is the third generation of his family to naturally farm Chenin Blanc in the chalky soils of Vernou-sur-Brenne in the appellation of Vouvray. His vines are old, creating lush, expressive white wines.

The Tuffo cuvee is intensely aromatic and loaded with flavors of quince and apple. It has a wonderful complexity to it, hitting at first with burst of fresh fruit and finishing with a vibrant minerality. This beauty is incredibly food friendly, a great compliment for everything from roasted chicken, to fish in rich sauces to grilled sausages. PWS

  6. Domaine Pajot Cotes de Gascogne Blanc 2019
Domaine Pajot Cotes de Gascogne Blanc 2019

The Domaine itself is plonked on the hills overlooking Eauze the capital of Armagnac. Its certified organic and has eighty acres of vines that grow on the gentle hills of sand and fine silt soils. All harvests are done by hand and the domaine does not use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. This is a dry and textural blend of Colombard, Ugni-Blanc, Sauvignon, and Gros-Manseng.

They have done it again! This is my go to white for summer with a lovely lemony, floral lilt and powdery, perfumed nose. Gentle and bright with clean and crisp flavours of orchard fruits and white nectarine. Its uncomplicated and delicious with clean, crunchy fruits and a zippy, minerally finish. Ridiculous value. MYLES, PWS

  7. Felicette Grenache Rouge 2020
    Felicette Grenache Rouge 2020

The Félicette wines originate from the Languedoc-Roussillon region in the south of France, along its southern-most coastline of the Mediterranean. Coming from vineyards between Narbonne and Béziers, the grapes are de-stemmed, undergo cold maceration and gentle ferments. The Félicette Blanc is mostly Grenache Blanc, with a little Viogner. The Rouge is almost all Grenache, with a splash of Syrah. Both wines are exceptionally elegant, drinkable and fresh, balanced and refined.

Yes! They have done it again. These are so easy to love with their bright and juicy fruit. A bouquet of pretty, small red fruits and a touch of wild herb. Soft and plush in a mid-weight style that is absolutely smashable. Packed with red pastille fruits and soft spice. It won't changae your life but you will be better for enjoying it.

  8. Domaine du Salvard Unique Sauvignon Blanc 2020
Domaine du Salvard Unique Sauvignon Blanc 2020
Previously labelled 'Unique' Sauvignon Blanc. With a new name and spanking new label designed by the talented French-based artist Louise Sheeran, the package here now reflects the quality of the wine inside. Cropped from mature vines rooted in the sandy clay soils of Cheverny's Fougères sur Bièvre, Blanc de Salvard is 100% Sauvignon Blanc raised on lees without any oak. The Delaille brothers' 2020 is another succulent and vibrant white, packed with aromas and flavours of pithy citrus, and shot through with smoky, resinous freshness and mouth-watering acidity. Classic Vin de Soif Loire.

  9. Bonnet Huteau Muscadet Sevre & Maine Sur Lie 2020
Bonnet Huteau Muscadet Sevre & Maine Sur Lie 2020
This family-owned domain has been making wine in the region for over 150 years. Certified organic and practicing biodynamic they vinify different soil types separately to allow expression of individual terroirs.

This sees a little fermentation in concrete and stainless-steel tanks with around 6 - 10 months on-lees (sur-lie). The Les Dabinieres' is a single vineyard site, characterised by shallow, schist and gneiss soils. This has a little more aromatic lift then most Muscadet and the naturally low yields give this a wonderful notch up in texture and weight. A bit of ripe citrus, lemon pith and a touch of riper yellow fruit. Wonderful texture and beautiful mid-palate weight that carries the fruit nicely.  A bit of mineral twang and a tangerine twist on the close. One of the nicest Muscadets we have tried.

  10. Ogier La Rosine Syrah 2018
    Ogier La Rosine Syrah 2018
Pungent blueberry, cherry, incense and a hint of cracked pepper on the fragrant nose. Appealingly sweet and broad in the mouth, showing good depth and clarity to the juicy, smoke-tinged black and blue fruit flavors. Reveals a building floral quality and lively, spicy lift on the long, subtly tannic finish, which leaves a hint of violet behind. JOSH RAYNOLDS, Vinous Media

The 2018 La Rosine Syrah blends scents of licorice, tapenade, cola and plums on the nose, revealing substantial complexity. Medium to full-bodied, it shows excellent ripeness on the palate, silky tannins and ample length on the mouthwatering finish. It's a terrific introduction to Stéphane Ogier's range of Syrahs from the Northern Rhône. JOE CZERWINSKI, Robert Parker

  11. Prince Estivac Blanc de Blanc NV
Prince Estivac Blanc de Blanc NV
While there is no doubt Alsace is well known for its aromatic white varietals it is probably not as well known as the steward of great sparkling. Well, this little drop will change your mind. This doesn't try to be Champagne and it's all the better for it. The aim is to produce a clean, fun and delicious sparkling that nods to its home in Alsace but overdelivers in quality, and it has that in spades!

This is sensational value, made from Pinot Blanc and Riesling in a traditional method. Nashi pear and green apple with hints of lime. Cumquat, apple, zesty citrus lead in the mouth to a long finish. Excellent little wine and you would be just as happy popping this for a toast as you would cracking it at a BBQ to get the party started.

  12. Laffitte Petit Gascoun Rose 2020
    Laffitte Petit Gascoun Rose 2020

Christophe and Sébastien are two true Gascoun brothers who can trace their ancestry in their village of Ayzieu back to the 15th century. The name 'La Fitte' originates from the word 'stone' in the ancient Gascoun language. They used to concentrate on Cognac production but decided to diversify into wine and we are glad they did. All of their wines are playful, delicious and easy-drinking.

Incredibly they take a detailed approach to winemaking with each varietal is vilified separately, destemmed and directly pressed. Peppery, sweet raspberry greets with a little sherberty-spice, apple and peach. This is a lighter style rose with vibrant and pristine.
