I would rate the wines of Donnhoff among the greatest dry white wines on earth. It is a big call but one that has been put to the test a number of times. His wines can best be described as a bit of a paradox as they are dense, rich and powerful but at their best seemingly weightless, brimming with energy and tension. Another thing that always seems at odds with the way I think about top flight Riesling and how these wines behave is that they are often thoroughly enjoyable in their youth. If you love Riesling then these are an absolute must. ROSCOE
