Bernard Germain bought Château de la Roulerie in 1996 from pastry chef Gaston Lenôtre. in 2004, his other son Philippe took full control of the operations after living on the domaine since 2001.

The property is spread over 42 hectares which are divided between La Roulerie (24 ha) and Les Grandes Brosses (18 ha), for a total of 17 parcels. The vines are all densely planted on schist soils which give a wonderful concentration the to the fruit as well as a wonderful minerality.

They are Certified Organic since 2015 and Since 2011, Philippe has started to convert to biodynamics. There is very little free SO2 on the whites, 15 to 20 mg per liter and the wines are vegan.

A lovely salty, powdery mineral thing going on with that tell-tale pear and green fruits underneath. Again, with that saline, mineral rush that runs through the clean ripe fruits and keeps this wine zippy and bright. It's certainly pushing towards medium body but is packed nice, tight and compact. Big fan! PWS
