Pierre Luneau is the thirteenth generation of his family to bear the name Pierre. Pierre and Monique, his wife, are the seventh generation of vignerons to run Domaine Luneau-Papin, which was founded by Pierre's forebears in the 18th Century. From vines more than 35 years old, grown on mica-schist in a south-facing vineyard overlooking the village of Le Landreau and aged on lees for 7 months. Jam packed full of citrus peel, zesty lemon and a grapefruit pithiness. That unmistakable Nante brine/saltiness and saline backbone. The faintest hint of less ageing in the background adding an extra layer of complexity and all bound by bracing acidity. PWS
