Pinot noir from Marlborough, NZ. Southern Valleys. 30% whole bunches, 35 days on skins. Made by Sarah Adamson and Greg Lane. And, for those wondering, the label is indeed named after the one-and-only Scout Finch.

It's light to look at and relatively light in body too, though it's not light-on for charm. Raspberry, redcurrant, strawberry and red rose characters swirly deliciously - and texturally - through the palate before swinging persuasively out through the finish. Graphite/woodsmoke/clove/stem characters are at play too; it's a wine of deceptive complexity. Scout by name, scout by nature.  If you enjoy lighter-framed pinot noir, this is a wine to look out for.
