Chalmers

Following the 2008 sale of their very large vineyard and vine nursery propagation business, the Chalmers family has refocused its wine businesses. The main vineyard is an 80ha property on Mt Camel Range in Heathcote, which provides the grapes for the individual variety, single vineyard Chalmers range (Vermentino, Fiano, Rosato, Nero d'Avola, Lagrein, Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Aglianico). Kim Chalmers and her family now have two vintages under their belts at their new vineyard in Heathcote, proving that the Italian varieties they pioneered on the hot banks of the Murray River back in the early 2000s are also well suited to the rich red soil of central Victoria.
