Not in this case, which showed beautifully nutty and with pungent flavors reminiscent of curry. The palate is almost salty. This Savagnin could be a mini Vin Jaune aged for some six years under a veil of yeasts, but maybe without the complexity and roundness of a true Vin Jaune. It has freshness and length, it's very lively and persistent, from a very balanced year with healthy grapes. The name Savagnin is not marked on the label, it only says Réserve du Caveau; that's the way to identify that it's Savagnin!
