Yabby Lake Premium 6 Pack
Selected by Prince Wine & Spirits

The arrival (to Yabby Lake) of the hugely talented Tom Carson as group winemaker in 2008 added lustre to the winery and its wines, making the first Jimmy Watson Trophy–winning pinot noir in 2014 and continuing to blitz the Australian wine show circuit with single block pinot noirs. JAMES HALLIDAY,

They are modern wines of precision and beauty. HUON HOOKE,

Wine is an agricultural product, it plays the hand nature deals.  So when a minuscule vintage like 2019 comes around and there isn’t enough juice to bottle the top wines (including a former Jimmy Watson winner), then you declassify and bolster the tier below - and hide the books. This is what happened to the 2019 vintage at premium producers Yabby Lake. Both the Single Vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot are delicious renditions of their former selves.

All the fruit from their top single block wines were added to their Single Vineyard Pinot and Chardonnay, and it clearly shows.  These wines carry a little excess baggage, minus the fee.

Both the Single Vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot encapsulate the greatness of Mornington. The Pinot is fleshy yet fine and delineated. Smokey and sappy tones accentuate the savoury highlights, while the fine framing tannins form a silken tail to finish. The Chardonnay is lithely and vibrant. Crunchy white stone fruits and pithy citrus flavours intermingle with smokey and saline tones. There’s great dimension to this white.

On offer today are two wines, the Single Vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. These are amongst the best wines we’ve seen coming from the riper, compact and very low yielding 2019 vintage. They’re fresh and filigreed with cores of delicious fruit to anchor them. And with no Single Vineyard wines being made in 2020, here’s your chance to secure some of the Peninsula’s best.

This mixed six pack includes three each of the Single Vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot, and we've taken 20% off for $299.
